Summit Hills Retirement Community

The 2011, 4^th of July presentation will be the biggest and most Star Studded of the past four seasons we have done our shows at Summit Hills.

This year’s show will be dedicated to the men & women who have served in the Military, in the Past & Present.

The show will have a nostalgic theme – showcasing music of the “Big Bands” through the music of the Dale Burke Big Band &  “Los Sombreros De Musica” (a Mariachi-Latin Group).  Special Guest Artist, “Matt Ranck” – a new and fresh Singer-Songwriting talent, performing his original material written for this show.  Also, featuring two lovely & talented ladies, Jean Calvert & Whitney Walters performing music from their “Viva les Divas” show.  This will be an adventure down memory lane.

 We hope to see you there.

ATTN JAZZ LOVERS!!!  We started our 9 week series of "An Evening with Dale Burke & his music", this past Saturday night at Blues Blvd Jazz, in down town Spartanburg.  It was a huge success - with many friends stopping in to listen and have a drink or two. Our guest artist for the night Michael D. (Del Priore) was on drums and played super. Of course, Joe DiPrima was on Bass doing his ususal great job.  This is a very fine listening Jazz room and the audience was very attentive and let us know they appreciated all that we did.  We will be bringing in various guest artist thru out our series.  Next Saturday, Sept 11, Dale has the great Jazz Bass man, Shannon Hoover joining him.  So it should be  fun - hope you all can come down and spend the eveninng with us.

Dale played piano before dinner and we were invited to stay for dinner. Katherine Jeter was guest speaker and was excellent. Excellent event and was very well organized by Myra Byers. About 200 women and several men attended. Meal was excellent.

And, of course, being the 3rd of July (which is just before the 4th of July) we will be presenting our "Patrotic Salute".
